Window layouts across multiple monitors

SpanWise treats several displays as the normal case. It groups them by aspect ratio, so displays with the same shape share one menu even when their resolution, pixel density or model differs.

Six terminals + four tools
MacBook 60/40, 27-inch thirds and 49-inch 5 × 2—all active at the same time.
  1. Open Settings and choose a ratio such as 16:9 or 32:9 on the left.
  2. Check the connected count and the display names shown in that profile.
  3. Add layouts from the central library and arrange them under Minimize-button menu.
  4. Use Add aspect ratio… to prepare a menu for a monitor you do not currently have connected.
  5. Choose one linked layout as the default for Deal and keyboard control.

The pointer location tells SpanWise which physical display is active; its native width-to-height ratio selects the menu.

Each ratio retains an independent default and menu. A portrait display can use stacked thirds while landscape 4K screens use thirds and a 49-inch display uses 5 × 2. Two matching 16:9 screens deliberately offer the same choices.

SpanWise computes geometry in global coordinates against the primary display. This keeps mixed Retina scaling, vertical offsets and displays positioned left of the main screen aligned correctly.

With iCloud sync enabled, the central layout library and every ratio menu reach your other Macs. Each Mac shows which of its connected displays currently use a profile.
