One Mac, several displays

Each screen gets the layout that makes sense.

Your MacBook can stay focused. Your 27-inch monitor can use thirds. Your 49-inch can hold six terminals and the tools around them. SpanWise remembers a separate default and minimize-button menu for every display.

01

Recognises the setup

Display groups match the connected monitors, resolutions and arrangement—even when macOS changes a monitor UUID after sleep.

02

Activates the right grids

Every screen keeps its own choice. Connect four different displays and each one returns to its useful layout.

03

Adapts when you undock

A wide grid moved to a laptop automatically becomes fewer, usable columns instead of narrow slivers.

How you place one window

Choose a grid. Point at the place.

No window snapping while you drag. Pause over the yellow minimize button, choose a layout such as 2 rows of 3, move across its positions and click where the window should land.

Your screen, your ratios

Build the grid your work needs.

Create several grids for the same monitor and switch between them. Start with 5 × 2 for terminals, then use 30/40/30 for focused work or split one cell again for stacked tools.

Drag a divider, split a cell again, or type an exact ratio.

A 5 × 2 grid stores ratios rather than pixels, so it scales cleanly and remains editable.

Try the geometry engine

Change the display. Watch the useful grid change.

SpanWise classifies logical screen space—not Retina pixels—and recommends layouts that remain usable on that display.

Try the geometry engine

Pick a display. Move a divider.

The recommended grid changes with the usable shape of the display. Drag a white divider to make the columns your own.

Updates without another installer

Approve once. SpanWise finishes the update.

The app checks the signed SpanWise appcast once a day. When a newer notarized version exists, it shows what changed and asks whether you want to install it. After you approve, Sparkle securely downloads, verifies, replaces and relaunches SpanWise.

The Download button and in-app updater use the same release record — currently 1.0.22, build 1022.
