Synchronize SpanWise between Macs

A 49-inch office grid and a compact MacBook grid remain distinct while their configuration synchronizes.

Turn on Settings → General → Sync with iCloud on every Mac signed into the same Apple Account. SpanWise synchronizes:

  • custom grids and their ratios;
  • screen-ratio profiles, their default layout and ordered minimize-button menu;
  • saved layouts and app rules;
  • palette delay, size and trigger button;
  • configured shortcuts;
  • your valid registration, re-verified on every Mac before it is saved to Keychain.

The current windows on your screen are not uploaded. The sync contains configuration only and uses NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore in your own iCloud account. SpanWise has no account server and cannot read another user’s configuration.

The status beside Sync now shows whether the configuration is synchronized, still waiting for iCloud, or too large for Apple’s key-value quota. A readable local JSON copy remains in Application Support and can also be exported as a .spanwiseconfig file.
